Every small business exists because of somebody's dream. Usually it wasn't a dream of (just) making lots of money. It's a dream of making their life better, creating compelling jobs for others, and making the world a (slightly) better place.
Every small business exists because of a creative act. Someone started with nothing and turned it into something. They worked, wrestled, denyed themselves to create something that provides important creative work for their life, but also for their team, and their customers.
Every small business exists because of someone who is in over their head. There is no class you can take, no book you can read that will teach you everything you need to know to be successful in your small busienss. No one is an expert in sales, marketing, IT, accounting, human resources... the list goes on. And so each of us is constantly feeling like we are screwing up (at least a little bit).
When I see people striking out into the unknown to pursue their dream, to make meaningful work for themselves and others, to create a positive change in the world; I just have to help them. So that's what I've done. Through my consulting, my online resources, my speaking and training I'm trying to lower the bar, to make it easier for small business owners to succeed.
